Our family have been producing saws and hand tools in our Sheffield factories since 1923. Our craftsman produce an extensive range of saws under famous traditional brands that have origins in the 18th century. Our popular brands are the PAX brand, Lynx Saws (Garlick Saw Company) and Roberts & Lee Dorchester Saws. We also manufacture Clifton hand planes which includes a wide range of premium quality bench planes, shoulder planes and spokeshaves. We are now the last remaining traditional saw and hand plane manufacturer in the UK.

We work with local suppliers and foundries to ensure we offer high quality materials in each of the range of tools we manufacture.

Our online retail division aims to provide Sheffield made tools for all your woodworking needs. It is our company ethos to only promote high quality products and support British manufacturing. We market tools from other local premium brand manufacturers who aspire to the same exacting standards as we do. Please note, all our saws are made to order and Clifton planes do currently have some wait times due to high order levels.
